Hottest jobs, cities and industries for IT pay in 2017
Computerworld's 2017 IT Salary Survey shows solid, if not spectacular, pay gains for IT pros. The average increase in total compensation (including salary and bonus) was 3% -- less impressive than the 3.6% and 3.9% raises tech workers saw in 2015 and 2016, respectively, but significantly better than the -0.4% to 2.2% changes in 2009 to 2014.

Windows Server on ARM laptops is for Azure only
A couple of months after announcing that Windows 10 will be available on ARM laptops based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 when the Creators Update launches this spring, Microsoft also revealed that it has been trying out ARM servers in its Azure data centers and is planning to use them for some very specific production workloads.

Review: Microsoft Teams almost as bad as its beta
For months now, we’ve been hearing about Microsoft Teams, Microsoft’s much-heralded Slack killer for corporate chat. It’s now in official release (what Microsoft calls “general availability”) as part of Microsoft’s Office 365 enterprise plans. Sadly, Teams is underwhelming in its formal debut and definitely not a match for the hype Microsoft has been providing since October 2016. For a product so late to market, Microsoft should have delivered much more.
